Research focus

My doctoral research investigates short-pulse electron beam dynamics, including pulse broadening, energy spread, and phase-space distortion caused by space charge.

The work combines physical modeling with numerical simulation, including particle-in-cell methods with WarpX. Related papers examine electron-beam dynamics in a classical vacuum diode and in a drift space.

Questions

  • How do self-fields change a pulse as it propagates?
  • How does the transport environment affect beam evolution?
  • How can numerical models connect beam profiles with the underlying particle dynamics?
